Scabies

Overview

It is a very common contagious disease caused by a small mite. It eventually involves all family members. It's characterized by small pimples over the body with severe itching.

Symptoms

It is characterized by severe itching that increases at night time. There is also an appearance of small pimples between the fingers, wrist, underarms, thighs and genital area. Usually, many family members or room partners get affected with the patient, as it is contagious.

Treatment

All the family members/room partners are should be treated simultaneously, even though they are not having any symptoms. Permethrin cream has to be applied all over the body below the neck at night, next morning take bath. Also, all the clothes and bed sheets should be exposed to the sunlight for two days.
